The USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) is set to organize the National Technical Universities Cooking Competition on September 20, 2024 in Accra.

The event, designed to promote the use of U.S. poultry products, will feature student chefs from eight leading technical universities across Ghana, competing to showcase their culinary expertise.

Participants from Accra, Bolgatanga, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Tamale, Takoradi, and Dr. Hilla Limann Technical Universities will take part in the highly anticipated contest. Each university will field two students who will battle it out. The competition will air over two episodes, with four schools competing in each episode. The top team from each round will emerge as the episode winner, advancing to claim the grand prizes.

Winning schools will be rewarded with kitchen equipment worth 15,000 Ghana Cedis, while the individual contestants will receive trophies, certificates, and shopping vouchers valued at 2,200 Ghana Cedis. An Awards Brunch will follow on September 21, 2024, at Nsuomnam Seafood and Fish Restaurant, where participants and stakeholders will celebrate the winners and all competitors.

USAPEEC, a non-profit organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is committed to increasing global exports of U.S. poultry and egg products. The council works to promote the quality and safety of U.S. poultry, which is inspected by both the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the Ghana Food and Drug Authority (FDA) to ensure it meets the highest standards.

With U.S. poultry products already enjoyed in over 130 countries worldwide, USAPEEC hopes this competition will further enhance the appeal of American chicken in Ghana by highlighting its superior quality, nutritional benefits, and versatility in local dishes.
