The Volta Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Hajia Hawa Tahiru, has called on Muslims in the Afadjato South Constituency of the Volta Region to vote massively for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 general elections. She assured the Muslim community of the party’s commitment to addressing their concerns, particularly regarding the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.

Speaking during an interaction with Muslims at Golo Kwati on Sunday, Hajia Hawa urged the community to set aside past grievances and rally behind the NDC and its flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama. She assured them that under a Mahama-led administration, they would not be overlooked, especially in matters concerning Hajj. She emphasized, “Let us all support His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to win in December so that he can help reduce the exorbitant fees that hinder us from going on our annual Hajj pilgrimages.”

Several constituency leaders were present at the event, including Mr. Frank Afriyie, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Afadjato South; Mr. Akotia, the Constituency Chairman; Mr. Abuohey, the Secretary; Denis Goloh, Director of Elections; and Mr. Ayuba Ibrahim, the Zongo Caucus Coordinator for Afadjato South. Also in attendance was a member of the National Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the NDC, Madam Hajia Rahinatu.
