Artisans in Konkonpe unhappy about economic hardships under NPP
They expressed fears that without urgent intervention, more businesses may be forced to close, deepening the economic challenges faced by the community.
Scores of artisans in the Konkonpe area of Ablekuma North Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have voiced their concerns over the worsening state of the economy, citing the high exchange rate as a major factor crippling their businesses.
According to the artisans, the rising cost of doing business has led to the collapse of several enterprises and significantly slowed economic activity in the area known for spare parts dealerships in the region.
The artisans shared their frustrations during a community engagement held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama as part of the continuation of the campaign tour of the region.
They expressed fears that without urgent intervention, more businesses may be forced to close, deepening the economic challenges faced by the community.
Mr Mahama, in response, acknowledged the hardships faced by small businesses and assured the artisans that an NDC government would prioritize policies to stabilize the economy and create a more favorable environment for local businesses to thrive.
