Kasoa: 22-year-old man burnt to death with ‘girlfriend’ at Akweley

Some unknown persons have set the room of 22-year-old Isaac Kwabena Osei ablaze, killing him and a young lady instantly.

Princess Analey Ayentey, 19, according to reports was burnt to death with Osei at Adom Estate, a suburb of Kasoa Akweley in the Awutu Senya East municipality of the Central region.

Their bodies were discovered Thursday morning, October 03, 2024. The assailants, according to reports, spilled petrol around Osei’s room in the night and torched it leading to the demise of the two.

According to the mother of the young girl, Felicia, Osei was an internet fraudster who used Princess as his interpreter to deceive people and scam them for their funds.

“My daughter told me that the boy is into the scamming business so he needed someone who would talk to the white men for him. So, I even asked her what he would give her because she was rendering a service for him and she said she hasn’t had any discussions with him on that. When she told me she was going there yesterday (Wednesday, Oct 2), I told her not to go because she was menstruating. She was with me here and I told her not to go until she received a call and stepped out to take it. That was when she didn’t return.

“I heard of the incident this morning and the moment I heard the boy’s name, I said then Princess might be there because the boy came to call her yesterday. So when my sister-in-laws went there, [they had been burnt],” she narrated.

Meanwhile, mother of the deceased young man, Esi, speaking with OnuaOnline noted she had no idea that the son even had a girlfriend until the incident occurred.

“I spoke to him in the morning and didn’t hear from him again. He didn’t even eat his supper so I tried checking up on him around 11pm but I said he could be asleep then so I went back to sleep until I heard one tenant screaming around 1pm. When we stepped out his room was burning and after putting out the fire, we saw them dead. He is a calm person. I’ve never seen him with a lady before so I didn’t even know she had a girlfriend.

“They wanted to burn his container in addition. He does printing and photocopying,” the mother disclosed.

Meanwhile, the Awutu Senya East NADMO Director, Kwame Amoah, indicated that the suspects were captured by CCTV but had their heads covered with hoodies. He, however, assured they will assist the police to get the suspects arrested.
