Man, 20, Cuts Brother’s Head

A 20-YEAR-old man, who is said to be mentally deranged, has allegedly cut off the head of his younger brother, who is seven years old.

The suspect, identified as Sammy, reportedly, ended young Messiah’s life in that bizarre manner at Kwamo near Kumasi last Sunday.

According to reports, Sammy lured the young and innocent boy into a thick bush, where he used a sharp knife to cut off his head.

The suspect, after committing the heinous crime, confessed his sins to his younger sister, who relayed the sad news to their uncle.

Sammy has since been apprehended by the police to assist in investigations, as the body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue.

The Assemblyman for Kwamo, Kuntu Blankson, who confirmed the news on Ezra FM, said Kwamo has been plunged into total shock.

He said Sammy’s mother has three children, with Sammy as the eldest, followed by a girl, with Messiah as the last child.

Blankson said on Sunday morning, the woman, who is a trader, sent her daughter to call Messiah to join them to the market.

He said whilst the girl was searching for Messiah, “Sammy appeared at the scene and confessed to her sister that he has killed Messiah.

“The young girl relayed the shocking information to her uncle, who questioned Sammy about the whereabouts of Messiah.

“To the uncle’s surprise, Sammy confessed again that he has cut off the head of Messiah in the bush to end his life abruptly.”

Blankson said the uncle called other people and they marched Sammy to the bush, only to find the dead body of Messiah.

According to him, angry youth in Kwamo tried to lynch Sammy, “but we prevented them and handed Sammy to the police”.

Blankson said Sammy has a record of being mentally deranged, saying, “he pulled a knife in a certain case and police intervened.

“He is known to be suffering mentally but his decision to cut off his brother’s head for no reason has come as a deep shock.”
