Agbeshie Headlines Hogbetsotso Za Festival
The ‘Wrowroho’ hitmaker has been tasked to promote the festival both locally and internationally, and most importantly, highlight the rich Anlo cultural heritage.
The Awadada of Anlo, Togbe Agbesi Awusu II and the Hogbetsotso Za 2024 central planning committee have announced the appointment of versatile rapper, Agbeshie as the official ambassador for this year’s Hogbetsotso Za Festival.
A letter addressed to the prolific hiphop artiste and sighted by 3 Entertainment notes that the appointment is in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the music industry and deep connection to the Anlo heritage.
“It is with great pleasure that the Awadada of the Anlo and the Hogbetsotso Za 2024 central planning committee appoint you as an ambassador for the festival,” the letter read in part.
The ‘Wrowroho’ hitmaker has been tasked to promote the festival both locally and internationally, and most importantly, highlight the rich Anlo cultural heritage.
“In addition to promoting the festival, you will play a key role in our fundraising effort for this year’s Hogbeza celebration and the construction of a befitting palace for the Awomefia of Anlo. Your influence and public platform provide a unique opportunity to rally support for this important cause, helping to preserve our traditions while fostering community development,” stressed the letter.
Agbeshie, born Frank Senanu Lawstand, thanked the Awadada of Anlo and the festival planning committee for the opportunity and expressed his enthusiasm about the honour.
“This recognition means the world to me, not only as an artiste but as someone deeply connected to the rich heritage of the Anlo people. I am excited to use my platform to promote this prestigious festival, share our culture with the world, and work together to make this year’s celebration one for the history books,” he remarked.
The well-loved rapper and native of Agbozume urged for unity ahead of the highly-anticipated festival.

This year’s Hogbetsotso Za Festival, themed, “Strengthening bonds and embracing our shared heritage” will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Anloga in the Volta Region.
