Penplusbytes Launches Voters’ Compass and Policy Dialogue for 2024 Elections
The Voters’ Compass, developed by Penplusbytes, is a digital tool designed to help voters compare party positions on key issues. It highlights the most critical policy areas for the electorate, providing a platform where political leaders can present, clarify, and discuss their manifesto positions.
Penplusbytes has launched its Voters’ Compass and Policy Dialogue initiative ahead of Ghana’s 2024 elections, aimed at bridging the gap between political party promises and voter understanding, particularly among the youth. This initiative seeks to promote accountability and good governance by providing a systematic way to track and assess manifesto commitments from political parties.
With manifestos from various political parties already released, outlining their visions and promises, many voters feel disconnected from the political process. This is especially true for the youth, who often struggle to assess the feasibility of these promises and the political will to implement them.

Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Jerry Sam, spoke to GhanaNewsOnline.com.gh about the importance of this initiative, describing it as an educational tool that empowers voters to focus on issues rather than personalities. He noted that the Voters’ Compass is essential in combating electoral disinformation, which can lead to violence and misinform voters about key issues in the election.
“The idea is to get voters to focus on the substance of political party manifestos, reducing the influence of personalities and the spread of disinformation,” Mr. Sam stated.
In support of the initiative, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy, Sivine Janson, expressed her delight in collaborating with Penplusbytes to promote accountability and inclusive governance. She urged voters to make informed decisions based on development agendas and encouraged the youth to remain disciplined and accurate in their assessment of political parties, before, during, and after the 2024 general elections.
