Angola & Sudan who recently beat Black Stars nominated for CAF Nat’l Team of the Year
Angola and Sudan, who recently overpowered the Black Stars, were named among the nominees.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released nominees for this year’s CAF Awards slated for Marrakech, Morocco.
Among the categories for the Awards is the Men’s National Team of the Year.
Two of the 10 nations nominated for the gong are Ghana’s opponents in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, also slated for Morocco next year.
Angola and Sudan, who recently overpowered the Black Stars, were named among the nominees.
Angola beat Ghana 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Sudan were also 2-0 winners in the last match played at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya.
The other nations nominated for Men’s National Team of the Year are Burkina Faso, La Cote d’Ivoire, DR Congo and Morocco.
The rest are Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda.
James Kwesi Appiah, who has guided Sudan to one of the best starts to World Cup qualifying, has been nominated as one of the 10 coaches for Coach of the Year.
The Awards ceremony will be held on Monday, December 16.
