8th Parliament is the best in Ghana’s parliamentary history – Banda MP

The Eighth(8th) Parliament is the best in Ghana’s parliamentary system, according to Ibrahim Ahmed, a Member of Parliament(MP) for the Bono Region’s Banda Constituency.

“The opposite is true, despite First Deputy Speaker Joe Osei Owusu’s assertions that this parliament is the worst,” he said.

As a result, he has urged the First Deputy Speaker to ignore his biased political portrayal of the House and instead speak to the facts.

In an interview with Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the Banda MP claimed to have described the present parliament as having accomplished a great deal.

“I can categorically state that this is the best parliament,” he said, disputing the idea that the current parliament’s standards had declined. The most transparent parliament in Africa is Ghana’s. He said that the seventh parliament, which was presided over by Professor Mike Oquaye, was the worst in Ghanaian history and that the administration was embroiled in a number of scandals and controversies, including the PDS deal.

Ibrahim Ahmed urged Ghanaians to show gratitude to the Eighth Parliament for its unwavering commitment, dedication, and representation of the people’s interests.

“You will learn from your evaluation that Prof. Oquaye’s seventh parliament in Ghana was the worst. The interests of Ghanaians were not adequately represented by them. That parliament defended President Akufo-Addo’s interests at the expense of Ghanaians. We held the government responsible, so that would be the greatest parliament to examine if you want us to do so,” he stated.
