2025 AFCONQ: Fidele Appointed Centre Referee in Ghana-Niger Game

Rwandan Referee Rurisa Patience Fidele has been appointed by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to officiate as the centre referee for the Africa Cup of Nations Group F qualifier between Ghana and Niger.

The game will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18 after their 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Fidele is a FIFA-listed referee, who has officiated matches in various international and continental competitions, including, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Confederation Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He will be assisted by Dieudonne Mutuyimana as Assistant Referee I and Didier Ishimwe as Assistant Referee II, while Jean Claude Ishimwe takes on the role of Fourth Official.

Other officials for the game include the Gambian Match Commissioner Bakary K. Jammeh and Burundian Referee Assessor Mfubusa Bernard.

After Ghana’s draw and defeat to Sudan in the last qualifier game, the Black Stars are placed third in Group F with two points.

They are behind leaders Angola (who hold 12 points) and then seven-point-wielding Sudan. Meanwhile, Niger sits in the base with a point they got from facing Black Stars.

They now have a slim chance of qualifying for the Nations Cup.
