The Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation Commends Donald Trump’s Re-Election

Draws Parallels with Biblical Figures

The Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation (SDTWC) has celebrated the re-election of former U.S. President Donald Trump in the recently concluded U.S. presidential election, describing it as both commendable and deserving.

According to the church, its position is not politically motivated but rooted in a purely religious perspective.

Trump Compared to King Cyrus the Great

The SDTWC likened Donald Trump to King Cyrus the Great of Persia, the ruler of the Medo-Persian Empire, who restored Jerusalem after conquering the Babylonian Empire (Ezra 1:1-4, Isaiah 44:28-45:1-4).

“In a similar manner, former President Donald Trump took a bold stance to defy the 1947 United Nations resolution that declared Jerusalem an international region. On December 6, 2019, Trump affirmed the Jewish identity of Jerusalem and relocated the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” the church stated.

This position was outlined in a sermon delivered by Apostle Kadmiel E.H. Agbalenyoh, the Spiritual Leader and Founder of the SDTWC, during the Adult Sabbath Session for the 13th Sabbath Lesson on November 2, 2024, at the church’s headquarters in Homedakrom near Pokuase, Eastern Region.

The Historical and Spiritual Significance of Jerusalem

Apostle Agbalenyoh, a scholar of world history and religion, provided a comprehensive overview of Jerusalem’s significance. He traced its origins to King David, who conquered Jerusalem from the Jebusites and dedicated it to God, naming it the City of David. He emphasized its importance as the location of the Ark of the Covenant and as a chosen city by God (2 Chronicles 6:1-6).

He also cited the construction of the Temple by King Solomon and its centrality to Jewish worship, including daily rituals, Sabbath observances, and major feasts (2 Chronicles 2:3-5).

The Fall and Restoration of Jerusalem

The sermon recounted the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple by King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon in 586 BC due to the sins of the Israelites. This led to the exile of the Israelites and the temporary cessation of Yahweh’s worship in the city.

Apostle Agbalenyoh highlighted Jesus’ prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem (Matthew 24:1-2), fulfilled with the Roman conquest in AD 70. He detailed subsequent historical events, including Islamic, Crusader, and British control of the city, leading to the eventual reunification of Jerusalem under Israeli control in 1967.

A Call to Holiness

Apostle Agbalenyoh concluded by urging believers to draw lessons from Jerusalem’s tumultuous history. He emphasized the need to avoid sinful and abominable deeds to maintain favor with God and secure access to His kingdom.

The sermon served as a call to reflection and a reminder of the spiritual and historical significance of Jerusalem in the faith journey of believers.
