Lawyer Minta Larbi urges Voters to Stay and Protect their Votes
Lawyer Larbi encouraged voters to remain at polling stations after voting until all votes are counted. He claimed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has failed the country, including its own members, and urged the electorate to vote for change by supporting the NDC.
The Chairman of the Eastern Legal Team and Regional Legal Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi, has urged Ghanaians to ensure they protect their votes after casting their ballots in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a massive rally in Akim Swedru, Eastern Region, during former President John Dramani Mahama’s campaign tour, the lawyer emphasized the constitutional right of every voter to safeguard their vote.
“If you have the right to vote, you also have the right to protect your vote,” he stated. “The Constitution of Ghana grants eligible voters not only the right to vote but also the right to defend that right. Therefore, every Ghanaian has a duty to ensure their votes are counted and the true will of the people is declared.”
Lawyer Larbi encouraged voters to remain at polling stations after voting until all votes are counted. He claimed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has failed the country, including its own members, and urged the electorate to vote for change by supporting the NDC.
“The NPP knows they have failed Ghanaians and that the people are ready to vote them out, but they are desperate to hold on to power. They might attempt to use security agencies to harass and intimidate voters. Don’t be afraid—stay, observe, and document any irregularities using your phones. Take videos and pictures of any attempts to disrupt the process and let them know you are there to protect your vote.”
He further called on all Ghanaians to vote massively for the NDC, stressing that only John Dramani Mahama could rescue the country from its current challenges.
The Eastern Regional campaign tour by the former president has attracted large crowds, with Regional Executives of the NDC actively accompanying him. The lawyer noted the overwhelming support as a clear indication of the ruling party’s waning popularity and predicted victory for the NDC.
