Ashanti Regional Chief Imam Sheikh Abdul Mumin Haroun passes away

The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, a revered leader in the Muslim community, has passed away after a short illness.

According to sources close to his family, the Imam fell ill Tuesday night and was rushed to the Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for medical attention. Unfortunately, he succumbed to the illness shortly after admission.

The news of his passing has left many in the region and beyond in shock, as he was known for his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development within the Muslim community and Ghana as a whole.

Family members and community leaders have indicated that arrangements are being made to convey his remains to his residence at Suame, where Islamic burial rites will be observed in accordance with tradition.
