Prof Naana// “It is not for nothing that God led former President John Mahama, Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to choose a female for a Running Mate.” says Rt. Rev. Daniel De-Graft Brace, Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church.
Thanking God for the life of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice Presidential Candidate of the NDC, Bishop Brace said she is likely to become the first female Vice President of Ghana to fulfil a plan God has purposed for the country.
“We know that there will be good news at the end of the December election,” he said.
Bishop Brace said this when Prof. Opoku-Agyemang called on the leadership of the Methodist church in Sekondi in the Western Region on Monday as part of her campaign tour of the region.
He said although the clergy has to be non-partisan, “We support what is good,” said
Bishop Brace, who prayed for blessings for the vice presidential candidature of Prof Opoku-Agyemang. He further said that they were studying the manifestos of the two leading parties in order to be able to offer support or constructive criticisms. He called for peaceful campaigns based on issues, and commended the Running Mate for leading the way in that regard.
