Government has parked Ambulances for 2020 Campaign while Ghanaians die in Rural Areas – Minority
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority group in Parliament has given a three day ultimatum to President Akufo-Addo to immediately distribute ambulances to deprived communities to avert further deaths in the country.
The Minority says the ambulances that have been parked at the precincts of the State House for months now must be sent out for the purposes for which they were procured.
Briefing the Media in Parliament on Thursday, the MP for Juaboso, Kwamena Mintah Akandor accused the Government and the Ministry of Health of deliberately keeping the ambulances so they can use it for political campaign in 2020.
“As you can all see behind us, are ambulances parked here for months. Meanwhile people are dying everyday for lack of ambulances,” he stated.
He called on the government to “as a matter of urgency distribute these ambulances now within a maximum of three days”.
Akandor noted that Parliament has an ambulance already and “we don’t need them, they must be moved to people who need them” to avert more deaths in rural communities.
