Mahama dares Akufo-Addo to name its tangible Achievements in the Volta Region since 2017
Speaking at various forums in Ho as part of his one-day ‘Thank You’ tour, John Mahama noted that, the region had witnessed massive developmental projects under the erstwhile NDC government, and appealed to the residents not to fall for the propaganda of the governing New Patriotic Party
The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general elections,, John Dramani Mahama, has described as false, the claims that the Volta Region did not witness any development under the party when they were in power.
He said those were the propagandist assertions by their political opponents just to sway the massive support the NDC enjoys from the good people of the region.
Speaking at various forums in Ho as part of his one-day ‘Thank You’ tour, John Mahama noted that, the region had witnessed massive developmental projects under the erstwhile NDC government, and appealed to the residents not to fall for the propaganda of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)
He enumerated infrastructural projects undertaken by the party across various sectors in the region – key among them are the Ho Airport, Redevelopment of the Ho Central Market, Construction and expansion of selected district hospitals, Water Expansion projects at Kpando and Adidome, Asphalt overlay of four Municipal capitals, establishment of a Naval base, construction of Community Day SHSs, among others.
Mahama however took a swipe at the NPP, accusing them of engaging in deceptive propaganda regarding President Akufo-Addo’s achievements in the region without any tangible project to show the good people of the Region.
He thus, challenged the government to put out a list of their infrastructural track record in the region for public scrutiny.
“I am talking about major governmental projects, the NPP has done no major governmental projects in the Volta Region since President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took power from me,” he added.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman of the NDC said the party does not take for granted, the massive support of the Volta region towards the course of the NDC over the years.
He said, in spite of machinations, the region gave the NDC the highest vote percentage of 84% in the 2020 presidential elections, for which he expressed gratitude to the people of the region for their absolute loyalty.
Also on the tour, were the 2020 Running Mate, Professor Naana Jane Opku-Agyamang, General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and a host of party bigwigs.
