Alleged chop chop: NPP Group Besiege Deputy Chief of Staff’s Residence
A group purportedly linked to the ruling party, Elephant Youth Association (Osono) this morning besieged the residence of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Asenso Boakye, in protest of funds the deputy claimed he has given to the group.
According to the group the deputy chief of staff has embezzled funds meant for them after their toils towards Nana Addo’s victory.
The group is said to be initiators and operators of an Elephant mascot that usually parades campaigns and rally grounds of the NPP prior to 2016 electoral victory.
Leader of the group Steven Amoh, stated that Asenso Boakye, told the president that he has given the group huge sum of money to for their toils which contributed to the party’s victory in the 2016 election..
“Asenso Boakye has denied us all financial assistance from the president, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, to us the deputy chief of staff takes money in the name of the group, but has never given us a penny before, this we see as an insult to us as members of our great party NPP”.
National Youth Organizer for Party Nana Boakye, known as NANA B intervened to calm nerves down and negotiate on behalf of the party and the Asenso Baokye. Speaking to top news he urge leadership of the group to remain calm as they settle the issue amicably.
He further tasked the leadership of the group to meet him at the party headquarters to deliberate further on the issue.
