World Cup play-off: Black Stars land in Abuja for second leg against Nigeria
The first leg produced a 0-0 draw in Kumasi, and the Black Stars need a win or a scoring draw to qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar.
The Black Stars landed in Abuja on Monday for the second leg of their 2022 World Cup play-off against Nigeria on Tuesday.
The first leg produced a 0-0 draw in Kumasi, and the Black Stars need a win or a scoring draw to qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar.
The team arrived in the afternoon and will train at the game location, Moshood Moshood Abiola National Stadium, in the evening to complete their preparations for the game.
Ghana coach Otto Addo believes Nigeria are not favourites going into the match.
“The result doesn’t change anything. When we go there we want to win.”
“Even though our Africa Cup of Nations was not good this year, you saw we matched Nigeria in the first leg,” said the former Black Star.
“So I don’t see them as favourites, the pressure will be on them at home and away goals can hurt a lot.”
The game will take place at Moshood Abiola National Stadium and will kick off at 5 p.m. local time.
