Asky-ET start Accra-Washington flights June 1

From June 1, 2022, passengers travelling between Accra and Washington Dulles will have another flight option between the two popular cities.

ASKY Airlines, in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, is all set to start servicing the route via ASKY Airlines’ hub in Lomé, Togo starting June 1, 2022.

The partnership between the two African carriers will see passengers traveling on a single ticket with very little connection time in Lomé and competitive pricing.

The start of this service has come to break the current monopoly on the route. The Accra-Washington Dulles route is currently serviced only by United Airlines.

ASKY Airlines Country Manager for Ghana, Mr. Worlanyo Afadzinu, said the start of flights between Accra and Washington Dulles is integral to his airlines plan of connecting Africa to the rest of the world.

“The introduction of the Washington flight is in line with our objectives of connecting Africa to the rest of the world. Washington Dulles becomes the third destination in the USA that have been successfully connected to our Hub in Lomé.

“Effective June 1st, we are providing alternative flight options for passengers traveling from Accra to Washington Dulles with a minimum connecting time in Lome,” Mr. Afadzinu said.

Ethiopian Airlines’ Area Managers,  Yemesrach Alemayehu, said the new service offers the travelling public more travelling options to the US.

“ET is pleased to introduce this direct service from Lome to Washington giving additional connective between West Africa and USA in connection with ASKY.

The Washington service is added to the daily flgiht we currently have to New York giving better travel alrenatics to USA,” She said.

ASKY Airlines is a private multinational passenger airline serving West and Central Africa, with its head office in Lomé, Togo and its hub at Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport.

The airline is a strategic partner of Ethiopian Airlines, and has been consistently profitable since 2017. It currently operates a fleet of 10 aircraft.
