Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the Minister for Health, says the upgrade of four health centres into polyclinics status largely depends on the quantum of budgetary allocation to the Ministry in subsequent years.

He cited the Fialimou, Zini, Jefsi and Jawia health centres in the Sissala West Constituency as not being captured in the government’s 2022 plans and budget for an upgrade to polyclinic status.

Mr Agyemang-Manu revealed on Thursday when he appeared before Parliament to answer a question by Mr Adam Mohammed Sukparu, Member of Parliament for Sissala West on when the health centres for the Fialimou, Zini, Jefsi and Jawia communities would be upgraded to polyclinic status.

The Health Minister, however, told the House that an assessment would be carried out on the facilities based on the request and evaluate them individually for consideration and budgeting in the ensuing years’ budgets.
