NUGS Secretary for Society and Welfare K Badu donates GHS50k to a student involved in an accident
On the 18th June, 2022, the Student Representative Council (SRC) President for Offinso College of Education, Duobeng Anane Mark wrote to the office of the Secretary for Society and Welfare requesting for financial support for Josephine Boatemaa who is a student from his school.
On the 1st February, 2023, Kwadwo Kwarteng Badu (K. Badu) who is the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Secretary for Society and Welfare, led a delegation to donate a cheque of GHC50,000 to clear the medical bills of Godswill Kwaku Ocloo as part of the NUGS Welfare Fund Initiative by the welfare committee.

Josephine is the mother of Godswill who is a six-year-old child attending Immaculate Heart of Mary International School.
A few months ago, he suffered fractures in the right leg as he got hit from behind by his school bus which was in reverse gear.
He was sent to the St. Patrick Hospital for treatment and later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for surgery.
Through NUGS, funds were raised to assist the family for paying the cost of the surgery.
“We thank the National Lottery Authority headed by Mr. Samuel Awuku and the Good Causes Foundation led by Anna Frimpong and David Nkansah Anto (DNA) for supporting us in this emergency and crucial state,” Mr Badu said.
