John Boadu: Former NPP General Secretary appointed new SIGA boss

A former General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has been appointed the new boss of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).

The appointment made in accordance with Section 17(2) of the State Interests and Governance Authority Act, 2019 (Act 990), is effective pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the Governing Board of the Authority, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

In a statement, the Presidency extended congratulations to Mr John Boadu on his new role and requested his acceptance or otherwise within 14 days.

Mr. Boadu, a highly regarded figure in Ghana’s political landscape, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Ghana Business School. His extensive experience includes serving as a Board Member for Guinness Ghana Limited, where he chairs the Audit Committee. He was also a Board Member of the Tema Oil Refinery and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Shokram Company Limited.

In addition to his accomplishments in the corporate sector, John Boadu played a pivotal role in the NPP’s success in the 2016 and 2020 elections. His political journey within the NPP spans various key positions, including General Secretary, Director of Operations for election campaigns, National Organiser, Deputy Director of Communications, National Youth Organiser, and more.

Known for establishing numerous TESCON branches across the country, advocating for youth inclusion in NPP conferences, and contributing significantly to the party’s organizational strategy, Mr. Boadu’s appointment is anticipated to bring valuable insights to the State Interests and Governance Authority.
