FX License Suspension: GT Bank promises to strengthen AML/CFT policies to prevent future occurrences
The Bank in the statement notes that it is working with the Bank of Ghana, and relevant Government Agencies and also reached out to customers who submitted defective documentation to address the issue of the suspension of its foreign exchange license.
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has promised to further strengthen its AML/CFT policies following the suspension of its foreign exchange license by the Central Bank on Monday, March 4, 2024.
According to GTBank in a press statement issued on Monday, this is to prevent future occurrences.
The Bank in the statement notes that it is working with the Bank of Ghana, and relevant Government Agencies and also reached out to customers who submitted defective documentation to address the issue of the suspension of its foreign exchange license.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this temporary suspension may cause you and your business. We wish to reiterate that, GTBank Ghana works within and maintains the highest levels of professionalism and compliance to directives given by the Regulator, and will continue to work in your best interest,” read the concluding parts of the Bank’s statement.
