3 persons charged over leaked sex video of Serwaa Amihere
The police has therefore, indicated that efforts are underway to apprehend Henry Fitz, the man who was seen in bed with Serwaa Amihere.
The Ghana Police Service has filed charges against three individuals accused of sharing an intimate video of broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere.
The accused have been identified as Edem Saviour Ketti, Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, and Henry Amponsah, also known as Henry Fitz, who is currently at large.
According to a charge sheet released on April 8, 2024, the said persons have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically the non-consensual sharing of intimate images, contrary to Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29), as well as Section 67(1)(2) of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038).
In violation of Section 66(1) of the Cyber Security Act 2020, they have also been charged with sexual extortion.
The matter arose after the video, which widely circulated on social media showed the broadcaster in bed with a man known popularly known as Henry Fitz.
According to facts provided alongside the charge sheet, the media personality had been informed by her makeup artist in December 2023 that an anonymous person had threatened to release her intimate pictures if she had not paid him an amount of GHS5000.00.
Subsequently, another demand for GHS20,000.00 was made on April 2, 2024 but in spite of the fact that the ransom was paid, the videos and pictures were still released on social media.
This led to the arrest of Edem Saviour Ketti, who admitted to using his Ghana Card to register the MTN mobile money account number. The number was then transferred to Candylove, who subsequently passed it on to Fitz, who is believed to be using the number currently.
The police has therefore, indicated that efforts are underway to apprehend Henry Fitz, the man who was seen in bed with Serwaa Amihere.
