Absa Bank Ghana appoints Edward Nartey Botchway as Managing Director

Edward Nartey Botchway is recognized as a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA – United Kingdom), a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA) Ghana, and a member of the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA).

Absa Bank Ghana LTD has announced the appointment of Edward Nartey Botchway as its new Managing Director, effective 10 July 2024.

Edward succeeds Adolph Kpegah, who served as Interim Managing Director during the transition period.

Edward Nartey Botchway brings over 20 years of experience in banking, business leadership, finance, strategy, and operational efficiency to his new role. He joined Absa Bank Ghana LTD from Ecobank. He held various senior positions, including managing director of Ecobank Liberia and regional consumer head for Anglophone West Africa.

Edward has held executive roles at GCB Bank PLC and Citi Savings and Loans throughout his career, demonstrating a solid track record in financial management and strategic leadership. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and a Master’s in Applied Business Research from the Swiss Business School in Zurich, Switzerland, complemented by a Postgraduate degree in Contemporary Management from the Nobel International Business School in Accra and a BA in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
