‘Accept their ‘Stolen Money’ but vote for progress’ – Asiedu Nketia urges ghanaians

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused government appointees of stockpiling money to sway voters in the upcoming December 7 elections.

 

During the launch of the NDC’s nationwide campaign at Adambrombe in the Akuapem South constituency, Eastern Region, Nketia advised voters to accept any monetary offers from political parties. He asserted that this money, which he claims is hidden in appointees’ homes to avoid detection, is rightfully theirs to spend.

 

“If they give you 5 cedis or 10 cedis to vote for them, take the money because it is stolen money they’ve kept in their rooms. If they deposited it in the bank or sent it abroad, it would be exposed, so they keep it at home to influence voters. Spend the money because it’s rightfully yours. If they use the money to buy things for you, accept the gifts,” Nketia stated.

 

He likened the situation to a thief who steals your money and then returns a portion, asking you to support their cause under the threat of divine retribution if you refuse.

 

Nketia urged voters to prioritize the country’s long-term development over immediate financial gains, stressing that accepting the money but voting against those who offer it will not bring harm to the voters.
