Accident Kills 2 In Kumasi

Two people died on the spot when a Man Diesel truck, developed brake failure and ran over people and cars in a dangerous manner on Thursday evening.
The deceased included an adult male and a young girl, whose bodies have been deposited in the morgue. Five other injured female adults have also been hospitalised.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the Man Diesel truck, registered AS-1786-Y, had developed fault so it was parked at the road side at the Oforikrom Taxi Rank in Kumasi. Suddenly, the faulty and stationary truck, which was without a driver, started descending towards the Anloga Junction, sparking fears among the people.
The truck, which was fully loaded with fertiliser bags to the brim, finally hit a nearby billboard with heavy metal rods, close to the Total Energy filling Station, before it stopped. Unfortunately, it had caused massive destruction to people properties already.
Two people were killed, five others were injured and some cars were destroyed at the accident scene. The gory accident attracted officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the police, military and the National Fire Service to the scene.
