The 9th Edition of the two most popular and long running high school events in the Ghana – Face of High School and Face of Teens Ghana 2021 took place at the Ultra-Modern Auditorium of the GNAT Hall in Accra.
It was a display of leadership skills, confidence, talent, professionalism, patriotism and a fashion extravaganza as students and parents alike were displayed pure excitement in seeing their peers and wards mount the stage to exhibit their talents, speak about humanitarian projects they have carried out in their communities, brag about their schools and put into practice what they have been learning theoretically in the classroom.
Seven International travel tickets were up for grabs among the 30 finalists from different senior high schools across the country. The delegates exhibited and showcased different forms of patriotism for Nation, to the admiration of the audience.
Indeed, the contribution of Face of High School and Face of Teens Ghana towards the development of young people in the country to make a difference cannot be underestimated. They provide huge National platforms for young people to tell positive stories and pledge their support for National Development. They nurtured talents and engage students with practical learning outside the classroom. They make students role models and give them a real sense of achievement. Patrons could not hide their tension and expectations when the results were being declared.
At the end of this year’s contest, Miss Martina Owusu Ansah of the Agogo State College won the Face of High School Ghana 2021 Ambassadorial title for the first time as a female from Ashanti Region and Master Abdul Rashid Lukman of St Dominic Senior High Technical School emerged winner of the boys category. It was full of emotions and tears of joy when Miss Angelina Obeniwah of Wesley Grammar Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region won the Face of Teens Ghana 2021 ambassadorial title.
Miss Priscilla Ama Awuah Kyerawaa of Our Lady of Mount Carmel SHS in the Bono Region was crowned as Miss Teen Globe Ghana 2021, while Miss Emmanuella Ziddah of Bright Senior High School in the Eastern region was decorated as Miss Teen International Ghana 2021. Abigail Afful popularly known as 6 hours of Swedru Senior High School in the Central Region won the Miss Teen Earth Ghana 2021 title and Miss Rachel Charley of Ada Secondary/Technical School in the Greater Accra Region won the Miss Humanitarian Queen title.
While 2 of the winners had conditional offer tickets, 7 tickets in all were provided by the organizers to give the students international exposure to represent their schools on the global stage and deepen their cross cultural exchange to showcase Ghana and its rich culture.
The organizers to this network in an interview that all the seven winners will have an all-expense paid trip to Nairobi, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
According to the organizers, Face of High School and Face of Teens Ghana are life changing Experience event that have been designed to give young people the opportunity to discover, learn, be empowered and to lead. They promise a big surprise during the 10th anniversary package slated for next year at the National Theatre of Ghana where the event commenced and run for 8 consecutive times.
“The journey to do good has only begun and we wish all the 7 winners the very best of their reign. The rest of the contestants went home with other Awards and would be supporting the ultimate winners to make a difference,” the organizers have stated.
