Actor Waakye died out of negligence of 37 Military Hospital – Maame Dokono
“Apparently, he’d wanted to urinate or something of that nature, but because there were no nurses to help, he fell from the bed. The next morning when his wife visited, he was lying on the floor with a cut on his forehead and blood oozing. By the time the doctors came, he was already dead,”
Ace actress Grace Omaboe ‘Maame Dokono’ has given a detailed account of the sudden death of her colleague Obra actor, Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye.
According to the actress, negligence on the part of the personnel at 37 Military Hospital in Accra led to the death of the actor.
Speaking with Larry ‘Da Oldman’ on Onua FM’s Anigye mmere show Via phone, she said, “His wife told me she took him to two different hospitals, and they didn’t admit him because there were no beds available. Even at the third hospital, where he was admitted, someone who knew Waakye pleaded with another admitted patient to give up his bed to him.”
Continuing her assertion, Maame Dokono said, “Because he was suffering from a mild stroke and couldn’t walk properly, his
wife wanted to stay the night and take care of him, but the hospital declined.
