Adum, Asafo Market, Airport Roundabout in Kumasi flooded due to heavy rains

The torrential rains on March 26 resulted in the flooding of most areas in Kumasi.

It wreaks havoc on developmental infrastructure and increases human casualties.

Specific areas impacted include Adum, Asafo Market, Airport Roundabout, Dichemso, the Accra-Kumasi highway between Tech and Kwamo, Kwadaso area and others.

Residents experience heavy flooding anytime there is downpour.

The flood breaks down walls and inundates homes and marketplaces in Adum, Asafo and other areas.

The flooding caused disruptions with vehicles submerged, school children stranded, and traders’ goods damaged.

Kumasi has a history of flooding, with past incidents causing damage and also many people losing their lives.

Some residents who spoke to our news team appealed for improved drainage systems and measures to address the recurring issue of flooding.

Emergency response teams are called to act early to restore normalcy in the affected areas, especially Anloga Junction and Adum.
