Ahafo Regional Police Command calls for infrastructure support
The Command said the current trend where police officers in the school go out to private homes to rent as a result of lack of accommodation makes mobilizing them for emergency and special duties very difficult.
The Ahafo Regional Police Command is appealing to the government and various institutions in the country to come to their aid.
According to the Command, there is an infrastructure deficit to accommodate the new recruits and staff.
The Command said the current trend where police officers in the school go out to private homes to rent as a result of lack of accommodation makes mobilizing them for emergency and special duties very difficult.
The Deputy Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP Felix Kwasi Cosmos, made this passionate appeal at the commissioning of the newly constructed police training center for the Region.
The Training Centre was constructed by the ABKOJ Co Ltd.
DCOP Felix Cosmos called on other institutions to emulate the ABKOJ Co. Ltd and assist the police by constructing accommodation for personnel to enhance their work.
The General Manager of ABKOJ Co Ltd., Samuel Aboagye, indicated that the company will continue to support security institutions in the area to perform their duties.
He said the Centre will help them and not the Region alone but the entire country.
Mr. Aboagye said, “it is good for us to do this for them [Police]”.
They made series of demands but we decided to do this for them first because they help Ghana and not only the Region.
