Alan Kyerematen Pledges Inclusive Cabinet from NPP, NDC and Beyond
The Alliance for Revolutionary Change candidate expressed confidence that his proposed cabinet composition would promote cohesion and harness the strengths of all parliamentary factions to benefit Ghanaian citizens.
Alan Kyerematen, the Presidential candidate of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has unveiled plans to form a cabinet comprising members from both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside potential independents, if elected in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
In an interview on the Citi Breakfast Show with Bernard Avle on Citi FM, Kyerematen emphasized his commitment to inclusivity and national unity as mandated by the 1992 Constitution. He stated that at least half of his ministers would be selected from Parliament, drawing from major political parties and potentially including independents who secure parliamentary seats.
Kyerematen stressed that his selection criteria prioritize individual merit over political affiliation: “I am not picking them because they are NPP or NDC. I will pick them based on their merits. It is just that they are in Parliament, and the constitution requires me to pick at least half of my ministers from Parliament.”
He further highlighted the importance of diversity in governance, aiming to bridge political divides and foster collaboration across party lines for effective national development. Kyerematen’s approach seeks to leverage the expertise and perspectives from diverse political backgrounds to tackle Ghana’s challenges comprehensively.
