Peace Ambassador frowns on Youth insulting Elders
The United Nations (UN) Eminent Peace Ambassador, Dr. Sam Owusu, is worried about the growing trend of youth in Ghana openly insulting elders in the society under the guise of politics.
“It is not fine that the youth who lack experience go on air and insult their elders. I have been particularly calm because I know who I am and Ghanaians also know who I am. I am a self-respected person out of politics and you can attest to that, but when these small boys hide under the freedom of speech and politics to insult their elders I get worried“ he lamented.

Ambassador Dr. Sam Owusu said the elders and leaders have wealth of experience that the young lack and instead of them to submit themselves and be taught about lessons of life, they prefer running down the elders.
Commenting on how National Executives of major Political Parties grant media interviews and rain insults on their elders, the UN Eminent Peace Ambassador described the situation as disgusting and uncultured.
“Their comments when always on the media, both TV and radio, are always uncultured. Also, students speaking against elders especially the President of the country is so bad, but it is sad our leaders can’t see,” he said.
“We must take care and formulate and implement policies and guidelines that would regulate opinions shared on media platforms”.
