These individuals, identified as close associates and business partners of the President’s daughters, were awarded single-source contracts worth US$54.3 million to import the ambulances under questionable circumstances.

Further scrutiny showed that the procurement costs were grossly inflated, with auditors discovering discrepancies in the figures reported by government officials.

At a unit price of US$80,000, the total cost of the 307 ambulances should have been significantly lower than the reported US$54.3 million, indicating an alarming inflation of US$29.7 million.

The report also exposed the use of different companies by the cabal to import the ambulances, with a majority of these entities having been formed shortly after President Akufo-Addo assumed office in 2017.

Detailed investigations into the companies involved revealed ties to politically exposed individuals and associations with the President’s family members.

Payments totalling millions of Ghana cedis were made to these companies in late 2019 for the procurement of the ambulances, raising suspicions about the transparency and fairness of the process.

The wide variations in the payment amounts received by the companies for the same specifications of ambulances further underscored the need for a thorough forensic audit to uncover the full extent of the corruption.

Interesting, the persons at the center of these fraudulent transaction, Gyankronma Akufo-Addo and her beleaguered Baby Daddy, Stephen Okore have become overnight millionaires with rich assets spread around the Ghana and abroad

In light of these alarming findings, calls for accountability and justice have intensified, with promises of further action and investigations to ensure those responsible face the full force of the law.

The scale of the corruption uncovered in the ambulance procurement scandal has heightened concerns about state capture and nepotism, fuelling demands for swift and decisive action to protect the interests of the Ghanaian people.

As the investigation continues and efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice gather momentum, the people of Ghana are left hoping for a resolution that upholds transparency, integrity, and the rule of law.
