The main purpose of the anniversary was to embark on evangelistic outreach, create awareness about how AMPC started and also give due recognition to its founders.
The theme for the anniversary was ‘Celebrating 50 Years Of God’s Goodness For AMPC: Winning Souls For Christ’.
Speaking during the sermon, the Director of Religious Affairs for Ghana Armed Forces, Naval Captain Reverend Paul Adjei Gyan said that Christians should avail themselves and respond to the great commission in order to do the bidding of God.
He further noted that “you have to ensure that your great commission brings honour to God and affect the world positively. It is God’s will for us to do things that are acceptable and bring glory to him”.
Rev Adjei Gyan bemoaned that it was appalling for Christians to see their fellows as enemies when “they are being reprimanded for any wrongdoing”.
He cautioned Christians to desist from wanting to experience instant miracles and have discourses that draws people to God, adding “let hold unto this great commission so we don’t sway from the feet of God”.
An Elder of Arakan Methodist Presby Church, Brigadier  General (retired) Oppong Kyekyeku also urged Christians to keep their surroundings clean as this, he added, was in tandem with scripture.
He charged Christians to make soul winning a part of their lives because “life in the world will be much easier if souls are won”.
The golden jubilee celebration which was under the theme ‘Celebrating 50 years of God’s goodness for AMPC: winning souls for Christ’ was celebrated from June to November 2019 with pomp and pageantry to the glory of God.
The celebration has strengthened friendship among members through the various activities undertaken, created the avenue to recall the contribution of founding members as well as encouraged the church to be dedicated to the things of God.
