Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Thomas Partey has the capacity to shoot from distance

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta backs Thomas Partey to take long-range shots after their 2-2 draw against Crytal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Gunners opened the scoring through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but Palace equalised in the 50th-minute courtesy of Christian Benteke’s strike.
Patrick Viera’s side made it 2-1 with Odsonne Edouard hammering in a shot via the underside of the bar.
However, substitute Lacazette scored in the dying embers of the game to rescue a point for Arsenal.
Partey, who lasted for 81 minutes came close to scoring for the hosts from his long-distance shots and Arteta has urged the Ghanaian to continue trying but in the right areas.
“Well, today with one of them he was much closer than he’s been,” Arteta said as quoted by the club’s official website.
“It’s something that we are obviously practicing with him to determine and to decide the areas where we are more likely to score a goal and when we don’t. He has the capacity to do that because he’s done it throughout his career and he is trying and he needs to keep trying, but in the right areas.”
