Ashanti Cries over Akufo-Addo’s Ɛdidigya Family and Friends Kokofu Football Team in the NPP
Dr Richard Amoako Baah is the latest to join a growing army of discerning NPP stalwarts who have recently recovered from the Akufo-Addo hypnosis, prompted by his consistent insistence to run a family and friend’s state capture that characterises his government since assuming office as the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Dr Amoako Baah, speaking on Ɛdwa Bɔ Ase, a political morning show on Power FM, summed the whole Agyapa Royalty Ltd SPV, calling it cronyism, which he likened to sophisticated corruption. Dr Baah, a leading member of the NPP in Ashanti Region is best remembered as a contestant to become a National Chairman of the NPP in their last delegate’s conference, in which contest he lost. Also, Dr Baah is remembered for his brazen partisanship as an NPP activist largely on radio interviews presented as a resource person and noted for the formation of an NPP KNUST Campus Chapter, which sparked a heated debate on the inappropriateness of partisan politics in the circles of academia.
Dr Amoako Baah’s open campaign against the Akufo-Addo administration for running a family and friend’s government, which in fact are cronies, is a significant pointer to a saturation point of the nepotistic regime running Ghana aground. Take, for instance, the recent press conference at Kumasi which was addressed by Dr Nana Agyenim Boateng aka Gyata Ba, President of Concerned Youth of Asante.
According to Kofi Bentum, author of The Bogus Informant, when the Asante anger turns against a regime, no amount of pressure will turn it otherwise. To buttress his point, he uses the Asante tide that turned against Colonel IK Acheampong, an indigenous Asante himself, to illustrate an example.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen from the inky fraternity, we the Concerned
Youth of Asante (CYA) have called you here today to challenge the New Patriotic Party to account to Asanteman what they have done and accomplished in the Ashanti region since President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo assumed office barely four years ago.
Ladies and gentlemen, because we don’t want to be judgemental, we all witnessed the flagbearer of the opposition party, NDC, just last Thursday at the Manhyia Palace accounting to the Overlord of Asante and Our King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the number of projects he was able to bring in the Ashanti Region when he had the opportunity to serve as a president of the republic for just a term and we expect NPP to do same.
Our able media practitioners, it’s our hope and prayer that President Nana Akufo-Addo will also go and show to Asantehene and the good people of Ashanti kingdom his projects in the Ashanti region alone for barely four years as a president.
Ladies and gentlemen, as a group who is determined to fight for the progress and development of Asanteman, we hereby also challenge the good people in the Ashanti region to compare and contrast the kind of votes that are given out to the NPP and the kind of development we receive in exchange whenever NPP was in power and do same to the NDC.
For records, in the 2016 presidential election, the NPP had 1,642,288 votes only in the Ashanti region which represented 75.99%, a vote that brought President Nana Addo to Power and NDC scoring as low as 503,368 which represented 23.29%
We can say on records that, per our checks, since 1992, NDC has achieved a lot in terms of physical developmental projects in the Ashanti region than the NPP but nonetheless receive less of our votes.
Ladies and gentlemen, as the president of the Concerned Youth Group, I want to ask if we are doing good to a party (NDC) who thinks well about our welfare and development yet we do not give them our votes during elections? It’s about time we think and re-think about the kind of party we sacrifice our votes for as natives of Asante.
This, we are saying is the truth and the truth needs to be told.
Ladies and gentlemen, CYA is not far for right if we say the NPP takes Asanteman for fools.
This is because, the NPP only deceives Asanteman when they need our votes and dump us when we cry for development.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are now wise and can no longer be deceived by the self -seeking Nana Addo’s government and the NPP.
Ladies and gentlemen let me highlight on a number of projects that were brought to the Ashanti region under the NDC and John Dramani Mahama’s during his four years as president.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you think we will be crying for development by now if NPP was able to develop our region as done in John Mahama’s four years?
Ladies and gentlemen, let me say again that, the NPP takes our resources and develop other regions that are of interest to them.
Is it not interesting for Nana Addo to establish a movie theatre at Akyem Kyebi where not even a single soul in the area is known to be an actor or actress whereas we have the likes of Lil-wyn, Kwaku Manu, Kyeiwaa, Mercy Asiedu, Kwadwo Poku Mahala, Agya Koo, just to mention but a few who are struggling to even rent hotels for good movies.
A Bauxite concession at Nyinahini in the Ashanti region which was awarded on contract to a Ghanaian based business man was just terminated and now a Chinese businessman is operating.
The NPP cut our timber and develop other regions with it.
Ladies and gentlemen, before I conclude, we want it to be made clear to us why we are always treated as slaves under NPP and we expect Nana Addo to tell us if this is not true.
