Ashanti Region: Fatal head-on collision claims life of taxi driver at Offinso
This becomes the second road crash recorded in two days in the Ashanti Region. the first involved Ghana’s Second Lady, Samira Bawumia when her convoy came into contact with a commercial vehicle on her way to the region over the weekend.
A taxi driver lost his life in a head-on collision with a saloon car on Monday morning.
The deceased, identified as 28-year-old Kwabena Arkoh, was returning from Boamang to Offinso when his cab collided with the oncoming private vehicle at a nearby cemetery at Agyeimpra.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene for investigations, confirming that Kwabena Arkoh tragically lost his life on the spot. The driver of the saloon car, however, survived with minor injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The deceased taxi driver’s body has been conveyed to the morgue. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

One person has been confirmed dead while eight others sustained injuries, disaster management officials told Asaase News. The deceased Alhassan Fuseini, had been a part of the domestic detail of Vice-President Bawumia since 2008, serving dutifully as a security officer.
He has since been buried according to Islamic customs.
