Parliament has resolved to take a break for one and half days to give Members the opportunity to participate in the upcoming District Assembly and Unit Committee elections slated for December 2019.
Majority Chief Whip, Ameyaw Cheremeh, who read the business statement for the Ninth week ending Saturday, 21st December 2019 on behalf of the Majority Leader recommended that “the House now sits on Monday, 16th Decemher 2019 but be adjourned early enough, to enable Hon. Members travel to their respective constituencies for the elections”.
According to him, the Business Committee earlier proposed that the House should not sit on Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th December 2019 in order for Members to participate in the Referendum, District
Assembly and Unit Committee elections.
However, as announced few days ago, there has been some changes in the scheduled elections hence the review to do a half day on Monday 16th December, 2019.
Meanwhile, sitting of the House is expected to resume on Wednesday, 18th December 2019 at 12pm.
