Ghana Assures Peaceful and Transparent 2024 Elections, Attorney General Tells US

Ghana’s Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has affirmed Ghana’s commitment to ensuring peaceful and transparent elections in December 2024, assuring the United States and the international community of this pledge.

Speaking at the 248th Independence Anniversary of the USA in Accra, Mr Dame underscored the significance of the upcoming elections in over 64 countries worldwide, including Ghana and the USA. He expressed optimism that both nations would uphold their reputation as global models of democracy through smooth and polemic-free electoral processes.

“As we prepare for the upcoming elections, it is my hope and belief that the process will be smooth, devoid of polemics and tribulations, and once again consolidate the status of our two nations as models for democracy worldwide,” Mr Dame stated.

Highlighting the importance of civic engagement in fostering social justice and strengthening democracy, Mr. Dame assured the international community of Ghana’s commitment to ensuring that the elections are conducted peacefully, transparently, freely, and fairly.
