Atlantic Lithium Resumes Operations at Ewoyaa Site After Fatal Accident Involving Worker
According to the lithium mining firm, the resumption of activities follows the conclusion of a joint investigation with the Minerals Commission into the accident.
Atlantic Lithium has resumed operations at its Ewoyaa project site following a fatal accident involving a worker of the mining firm.
The company halted operations for a two-day period from Wednesday after the incident.
The resumption of operations was announced in a statement on Friday, July 11.
According to the lithium mining firm, the resumption of activities follows the conclusion of a joint investigation with the Minerals Commission into the accident.
“Following the company’s corporation with the Minerals Commission’s investigation into the tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, which was led by the Chief Inspector of Mines, the site has been released back to Atlantic Lithium and operations have been authorised to recommence.
“The company is taking a steady approach to resuming operations after the incident, ensuring alignment with the recommendations made by the Minerals Commission,” it said in the statement.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of our teammate and we continue to offer our full support to all those affected,” the company added.
