Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame told me I was not his primary target of prosecution – Jakpa
These revelations followed the court’s decision to admit into evidence an audio recording of a conversation between Jakpa and the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame.
Third accused person in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial, Richard Jakpa, has made a startling revelation that the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame informed him that he was not the primary target of the prosecution.
According to Jakpa, the AG informed him that the main focus of the prosecution was Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Jakpa made these allegations on Thursday, June 13, during a cross-examination by Dr. Ato Forson’s legal team led by Dr. Aziz Bamba. He revealed that Mr Dame assured him he would be discharged during the submission of no case, which influenced his decision to cooperate and share documents with the Attorney General.
Jakpa also added that this assurance led him to believe that the Attorney General would assist him, resulting in the AG providing him with the addendum to the main contract between the Government of Ghana and Big Sea even before the prosecution had closed its case.
These revelations followed the court’s decision to admit into evidence an audio recording of a conversation between Jakpa and the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame.
