The dissolution of Bangladesh’s parliament is part of demand by the protesters.
Following the violence protest that led to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh’s Army chief, Waker-Uz-Zaman announced that an interim government would be formed.
But the student protesters have rejected the military-led government.
Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has agreed to a call by students in Bangladesh for him to be chief adviser to an interim administration.
“When the students who sacrificed so much are requesting me to step in at this difficult juncture, how can I refuse?” Mr Yunus said.
People were taken to the streets of Bangladesh to jubilate following the resignation of long-term Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina since the absence of the PM has brought a lot of relief to the citizens.
