Barima Sidney, is noted for thought provoking lyrics that seeks to fight corruption on the African Continent.

Outspoken journalist, Graham Kofi Baldwin who is also a media owner has noted the increasing hypocrisy among the Ghanaian society and the urgent need for people who care about the progress of Ghana to speak against it.

He has therefore challenged Hip life musician, Barima Sidney to openly condemn corruption, nepotism and thievery under the current President Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Barima Sidney, is noted for thought provoking lyrics that seeks to fight corruption on the African Continent.

His songs have been used in Liberia, Nigeria and other African countries for several political campaign activities.

Under Former President John Agyekum Kufour, the Hip Life artist’s ‘African Money’ was popular at the time and gave many Ghanaians the hope that, there were still courageous people who would speak against corruption.

The media practitioner revealled that, the hip life musician was again loud under the administration of John Dramani Mahama but went into hibernation under Akufo-Addo, despite several agitations by Ghanaians over the huge corruption allegations sinking the NPP administration.

In September,2020. Graham Kofi Balwin and one other went to court and secured an injunction over what they described as a ‘politically motivated’ music video – the Papa No.

The video produced by Barima Sidney’s Squadie Entertainment was scuttled by the court injunction at the time even though it was a heavily financed music video. The plaintiffs said the music was done by the hip life artist to dent the image of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s campaign into the 2020 General elections.

According to the journalist it is time Barima Sidney resurrect his ‘dead music career’ by using his music skills to speak against the ills under the Akufo-Addo government.

All efforts by ghananewsonline.com.gh to reach out to Barima Sydney for his side of the development have proven futile.
