Be transparent in IMF engagement – Doctors tells gov’t
The Association asked the government to be as transparent as possible in the engagement and make sure that Ghanaians get a good deal.
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has pleaded with the government to ensure that whatever decision is arrived at in the engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not discomfort the worker in Ghana.
The Association asked the government to be as transparent as possible in the engagement and make sure that Ghanaians get a good deal.
Speaking on the New Day Show with Berla Mundi on TV3 Tuesday July 12, General Secretary of the GMA, Dr Titus Beyuo also asked the government to control the rate of borrowing.
“The government must be transparent, check borrowing,” he said.
He added “They should make sure they don’t punish the worker.”
The government is currently engaging the Fund for a possible programme in Ghana.
The IMF team arrived in the country on Tuesday July 6 to commence the discussions with local authorities.
