Being in a Fix, Fixing the Country and Fixing Yourself: A time for unanimity…

Ghanaians await with baited breath the ruling of the Supreme Court on the QUORUM used in purportedly passing the E-LEVY, its Constitutionality or otherwise...

What the Supreme Court said about QUORUM regarding passage of 2022 BUDGET: Before e-levy

The Parliament requires a Majority of more than one half of ALL MEMBERS PRESENT AND VOTING, as QUORUM required to deliberate on Motions…

The QUORUM for taking decisions on matters such as the BUDGET & E-LEVY was thus set UNANIMOUSLY by the Supreme Court at a minimum of 138 of the 275 Members of Parliament being PRESENT & VOTING…

The Supreme Court ruled that the 137 NDC Members who were Present and Voted to reject the 2022 BUDGET was below the required QUORUM, thus was void as it was unconstitutional…

The Supreme Court further ruled that the 138 Members of Parliament (including the 1st & 2nd Deputy Speakers) who were Present and Voted to pass the 2022 BUDGET, were Constitutionally Right in doing so;

The Supreme Court ruled that the 1st and 2nd Deputy Speakers had a Constitutional Right to vote even when presiding over Parliament…

What the Supreme Court said about INJUNCTION regarding collection of E-LEVY:

The Supreme Court in dismissing the NDC Minority INJUNCTION by a Majority decision directed that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) keeps accurate records of all E-LEVY collected prior to ruling on the SUBSTANTIVE CASE which seeks to have the passage of the E-LEVY declared unconstitutional for the very same reasons the SUPREME COURT UNANIMOUSLY RULED that the Rejection of the 2022 BUDGET was unconstitutional…

The minimum threshold stated by the Supreme Court for the passage of the 2022 BUDGET, which is the requirement of at least 138 Members PRESENT AND VOTING was not attained due to the NDC WALKOUT and the absence of some NPP Members of Parliament…

What the Supreme Court will say about QUORUM regarding passage of E-LEVY:

Ghanaians await with baited breath the ruling of the Supreme Court on the QUORUM used in purportedly passing the E-LEVY, its Constitutionality or otherwise…

Ghanaians are waiting to see if it will be a UNANIMOUS DECISION OF THE SUPREME COURT and critically examine the individual written reasonings backing each of the Supreme Court Judges’ position on the QUORUM when the 2nd Reading, the Consideration Stage and 3rd Reading of the E-LEVY happened in Parliament.

Ghanaians will no longer be SPECTATORS watching the three Arms of Government;

Ghanaians will be CITIZENS in policing all three Arms of Government;

Be a Citizen Journalist…
