Medeama SC – unbeaten at home in the ongoing season went into the clash looking for their fourth consecutive win at Tarkwa but Chelsea scored in the first half to break their home invincibility.

Berekum Chelsea, Dreams FC and Nsoatreman FC recorded wins on Matchday 10 of the betPawa Premier League Sunday.

Chelsea inflicted a 1-0 deafest on champions Medeama SC in Tarkwa, while Dreams FC and Nsoatreman FC beat Great Olympics and Real Tamale United respectively.

Stephen Amankona scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute to silence the home crowd.

Medeama SC piled the heat on the visitors looking for the equaliser but had none of that as Chelsea went into the break with the slim lead.

After the interval, Jonathan Sowah, Derrick Fordjuor and Theophilus Anobaa bombarded the goal area of Berekum Chelsea but the former champions were resolute at the back to keep their opponents at bay.

The incessant pressure resulted in the hosts coming close a couple of times but the back line of Berekum Chelsea held on to grab a rare win at Tarkwa – their second win on the road with in the ongoing season.

Mohammed Yahaya and Ali Mohammed scored in either half as Accra Lions claimed a 2-1 victory over Karela United in Accra.

Accra Lions were off to a bright start after scoring in the 3rd minute of the game though Mohammed Yahaya.

Ibrahim Tanko’s side went into the game looking for their second consecutive home win after a patchy run of form led to a four-game winless streak.

After a slim first half lead – Karela United equalised on the stroke of full time following a strike from Samuel Kumi in the 91st but his goal was short lived after Ali Mohammed restored Accra Lions lead inside 92nd minute.

The hosts sat back after the second goal and protected the lead until the full time whistle.

Emmanuel Keyekeh gives FC Samartex win over Asante Kotoko

FC Samartex delivered yet another sublime performance to beat Asante Kotoko 1-0 at Nana Nsenkyire Park.

The Sameraboi side started the game on a strong footing with new signing Baba Hamadu Musah firing wide in the opening stages.

Emmanuel Keyekeye scored the only goal of the match inside the half hour mark after bending a delicious free kick into the top corner.

The former Karela United and Asante Kotoko enforcer pummeled home a ferocious shot in the 30th minute to send the fans into frenzy.

Ebenezer Acquah nearly gifted Asante Kotoko the equalizer in the 37th after he committed  a blunder in the box but the Samartex back line was quick to remedy the situation.

Back from the break, FC Samartex took the game to the Reds – in search of the second goal but Evans Osei Wusu missed a glorious chance in the 66th minute mark.

FC Samartex dominated play and hit the upright in the 68th minute – much to the relief of the away fans.

Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum threw Isaac Oppong, Rocky Dwamena and Mfegue into the fray but the quartet barely made any significant impact as FC Samartex held on to win the contest.

FC Samartex thus extend their winning run to five consecutive home wins with Asante Kotoko winless in their last four outings.

At the Theatre of Dreams – Dreams FC netted two second half goals to down Accra Great Olympics.

Both teams went into the game flying on the back of victories against Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC. But it was the hosts who grabbed the points in the end.

Ishmael Dede broke the deadlock with a neat penalty inside 48 minutes before Eric Danso added the second goal two minutes later. Danso was quick to get on the end of Dede’s cross to lob home – giving the Still Believe lads their second successive win.

Meanwhile, high flying Nsoatreman FC returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Real Tamale United.

Maxwell Konadu’s team needed to fight for the points after suffering back to back defeats against Accra Great Olympics and Medeama SC.

Mohammed Abdul Rahaman scored in the 23rd minute to give his side a well deserved lead before Abdul Manaf Umar doubled the lead on the stroke of full time.

At Fosu Gyeabuor Park – Bechem United gave away an early lead to draw 1-1 with Bofoakwa Tano.

Augustine Okrah opened the scoring in the 8th minute but the lead was short lived as Bofoakwa Tano grabbed the equaliser two minutes later through Steven Owusu.

Elsewhere- Razak Simpson scored a 75th minute goal to give Nations FC a 1-0 win over Kpando Heart of Lions at Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Finally on Sunday, Accra Hearts of Oak recorded yet another home draw after sharing the spoils with Legon Cities at the Accra Sports stadium.
