The honorable Member of Parliament for the Afram Plains North constituency in the Eastern Region, Betty Krosby, on December 1, 2018, donated five brand new air conditioners to the Presbyterian Hospital at Donkorkrom the District Capital of Afram plains North.
Addressing the gathering, the General Manager of the hospital Ezekiel Amadu Daribi, was overwhelmed by the gesture of the Member of Parliament and her commitment to supporting communities in her constituency for quality health services. The General Manager stated that when they called on Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah to help uplift the state of the hospital’s conference room, she didn’t hesitate to support. Mr. Amadu speaking at the event said, the hospital currently has only one medical doctor who attends to the many health issues in the two Districts in the Afram Plains zone. Hr said equipment like this in a way attracts ready Medical officers to come and support in the delivery of quality health.
Mr Amadu pleaded with the staff of the hospital to remember the member of parliament in their prayers for her good works towards the development of constituency and most importantly the hospital.
Honorable Betty Krosby told the gathering the Afram Plains North constituency is on her heart and so she is deeply concerned about the many health related issues in the constituency. She said with the recent cattle ranch commissioned by president Akufo-Addo without the accompanying health infrastructure leaves much to be desired. She said cattle in any community breeds flies, such as mosquitoes, houseflies and tsetseflies and this can lead to the spread of many diseases in the communities.
She called on hospital staffs to be ready prepared to take care of the families and the children of Afram Plains because the Afram plains North hospital is the only district hospital in the two districts. So she as Member of Parliament will do anything possible within her strength to push the constituency forward.
‘It’s my vision and mission to lobby for all the necessary infrastructure facilities be it health centers, roads, schools, water etc for the good people of Afram Plains North constituency., she said.
The MP said the NPP government has failed in all the sectors which the health sector is inclusive so we must kicked them out in 2020 to give way for a better government under the NDC.
