Black Queens Set to Discover AFCON 2025 Opponents Today

Ghana’s national women’s football team, the Black Queens, is gearing up for an exciting new chapter as they prepare to learn their opponents for the upcoming 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The draw for the tournament will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco.

This year marks a significant return for the Black Queens, who have not competed in the prestigious tournament since 2018.

Under the leadership of Swiss coach Nora Hauptle, the team is eager to make a lasting impression after missing the 2022 edition and seeing the 2020 tournament canceled.

The competition promises to be fierce, with the Black Queens facing off against 11 other nations, including the host country Morocco, defending champions South Africa, and powerhouse teams like Nigeria, Algeria, Senegal, and Zambia.
