Be a Blessing to Humanity – Sarah Teibo

UK based partly-Ghanaian Songstress, Sarah Teibo, who is on a week-long tour to Ghana has appealed to Cooperate Organisations, Civil Society Organisations and Philanthropists to prioritise addressing the needs of underprivileged communities in the country, one person at a time.

According to the MOBO Nominee, many communities in Ghana lack a number of social amenities that government alone cannot tend to, hence the need for not just other organisations, but also individuals, to augment government’s effort.  The ‘Steal My Joy’ hit maker was speaking on ‘making a difference through philanthropy’, an event organised by the Rotary Club of Sekondi Takoradi in the Western Region

As part of her tour, she was at the launch of the Takoradi Chapter of ‘This Girl Can’, a mentoring platform spearheaded by the Charles Buckman Foundation for young boys and girls, that encourages the youth to abstain from sex, develop their career for a successful life and build self-confidence.

Here, she only not gave a crowd stirring musical performance, but also shared her own personal story of coming out of poverty, and her drive and determination to excel which have led to her being a top professional in the field of finance as well as an award winning gospel singer.

While in Sekondi Takoradi where the mother partly hails from, the UK based Gospel Singer and Philanthropist paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Essikado, Nana Kobina Nketsia IV, then visited Captain Schools which aim at alleviating poverty through high quality free tuition for the less privileged in society.

She presented books that she had collected from the UK as part of a ‘Book Drive’ she is initiating for the school and also met with opinion leaders in the community.

Mrs Teibo  is gradually becoming an international Icon  following  the  release  of  her  debut  album  ‘Walk  With  Me’  on  all  digital music  platforms  in May last year.

The event was  unveiled with  a  live gig at  London’s  606 Jazz  Club and subsequently  bagged  her  a  MOBO  nomination  for  best  Gospel  in  the  same  year and best  album  2017 at  the  prestigious  Premier  Gospel  Awards,  UK.

This was a  follow  up  from  her  debut  single  ‘Steal  My  Joy’  which  was  a  huge  success  late  2015, charting  at  number  two  in  the  UK  Step-FWD  Christian charts  in  December  2015.

In  her  11 track debut  album  which  ranges  from  soulful,  infectious  numbers  such  as  ‘New  Day’ and special’ to bouncing  up-tempo tunes  like  ‘I  will  sing’ and deeply  inspiring  tracks   ‘Keep The  Faith’.  Sarah  fuses  her  uniquely soulful,  yet  contemporary  style  and powerful  lyrics  to produce  a new  and  exciting  sound.

Undoubtedly, some music critics have described her debut album as fresh, urban and yet classic.

She independently organized and co-headlined  a concert  with  Stellar  Award nominated  Lisa  McClendon  in August  2016  in  London UK  and was the first  Gospel  Artiste  to sell  out  a  headline  gig at  the  Hard Rock Café,  London  in  January,  2017.

The UK based Gospel Singer and Philanthropist is scheduled for live performances in various venues in the capital, Accra this weekend before her departure back to the UK on Monday.

Her music is now available for streaming in Ghana via MTN Music, and can also be downloaded on ITunes, Amazon Music, the Google Play Store and her website
